Chartered accountant. David Mace is a former senior partner with Ernst & Young Hong Kong where he was responsible for major corporate restructures and liquidations. He was latterly a Commissioner with the United Nations Security Council Compensation Commission based in Geneva. Mr Mace is a shareholder and director in several privately held companies with interests in leisure, thoroughbred breeding and tourism. He served as President of the New Zealand Hong Kong Business Association (Hong Kong) in 1996. Mr Mace is a past Trustee of St John's Cathedral and Treasurer of St Stephen's College, Hong Kong. He is a former Grand Master and currently Chairman of the philanthropic Freemasons Roskill Foundation and Advisory Board Deputy Chairman of the Centre for Brain Research, University of Auckland.

From 1993 to 1998, was Chief Representative Hong Kong of The National Bank of New Zealand Ltd (at that time a subsidiary of Lloyds Bank Group). He served as President of the New Zealand Hong Kong Business Association (Hong Kong) during 1997. Upon a brief return to New Zealand between 1999 to 2002, David was contracted to represent the Hong Kong Tourism Board (a statutory body of the Hong Kong SAR Government) in New Zealand concentrating on the trade marketing of Hong Kong as a tourist destination. During this period, he served as President of the Hong Kong New Zealand Business Association (Auckland) before relocating to Hong Kong to establish Mace Consulting Ltd's Hong Kong operations. Appointed Chairman of the New Zealand Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong 2004 and currently retains this role. David represents the New Zealand business community on the Hong Kong Government's International Business Committee. David holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Business Administration awarded by the University of Leicester, United Kingdom. He is also an International Investment Advisor for InvestGuangzhou.
